His F2 campaign
Coming in the series as an undervalued F3 champion because the lacks of wins in his 2024 winning campaign, he went under the radar until the summer where, along with his consistency in bringing the car home always with good points, he won a race for 4 weekends straight taking the lead in the championship and building a manageable gap going in the last 2 rounds.
Possible openings on the grid
In our opinion he proved to be F1 ready but the lack of slots on the grid and not having an academy behind him could leave him out of the circus.
The team that might be in need of a driver is Alpine where Colapinto didn’t matched the expectations but still brings a lot of sponsors.
Fornaroli’s entourage confirmed some talks with F1 teams that could open the spot for a reserve role with the possibility of driving the car in tests during the year.
Test with Jaguar
Meanwhile, earlier this year, Leo tested with Jaguar in their Formula E machinery maybe already in the preparations of a backup plan just in case he won’t find his place in F1.
